Can I bring my own firearm?
Yes, you can bring your own firearm. All firearms must be approved by RB Ranch. Unfortunately, we do not allow any AR15’s, 223556, AR10’s with a larger upper will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Do I need a Hunting License to hog hunt?
No, you do not need a Hunting License in the state of Texas to hunt hogs. However, you are required to have your Hunter Safety Certificate. *You will need a Hunting License to hunt deer, turkey, and dove.
If I stay at the lodge, can I bring my own food?
Yes, absolutely! We have refrigerators/freezers, microwaves, a grill, a griddle, and a stove/oven. We also have Keurig’s and a regular coffee pot.
If I book a hunt, can I bring someone as an observer?
Yes, non-hunters are welcome. It will be a $50/night charge per observer if they spend the night and a $50/day charge per observer if you purchase the meal package.
If I purchase a hunt, are tips required?
No, tipping is not required but it is greatly appreciated. Depending on the size of your party, I will have anywhere between 1-5 helpers/guides to ensure you have a good time and your hunt is successful.
What is the recommended tip amount for guides/staff?
Although tips are not required, they are greatly appreciated. At RB Ranch, we strive to make sure you have a great time and a successful hunt. We usually recommend a 10-20% tip.
If I harvest a hog, am I able to take the hams and backstraps home?
Yes, absolutely! We have 2 cleaning stations with electric winches where you can do it yourself or for $50 an animal our guides will do it for you.
Do you require a down payment to reserve a hunt?
Yes, we do require a 50% down payment. Balance will be due at time of check-in.
How many guests can you accommodate if I decide to book a hunt?
Right now, we can accommodate 9 hunters which includes 2 bunk houses and the lodge. We have plans to expand our accommodations to 13 within the next year.
What are your hunting set ups?
We have 5 redneck box blinds, 2 open air quadpods. Redneck blinds are outfitted with shooting bags and office chairs. We have plans to have all box blinds with solar panel power in each blind within the next year.
